We are looking for a Café Manager who demonstrates inspiring leadership so their team can provide excellent customer service to exceed member expectations and ensure their visit is a happy one. The right candidate for this vital role will be able to balance managing a newly formed team with exceeding revenue and margin targets, whilst maintaining a high standard of Food Safety. The person we are looking for is confident and empathic, giving clear communication and direction, whilst bringing and element of fun to the Café environment.   

What does the role involve?

  • 30-40 hours worked over 5 out of 7 days
  • Leading member obsessed service through inspiring leadership.
  • Responsible for Food Safety- conduct weekly internal audit to ensure compliance. 
  • Leading your team to achieve revenue targets and ensuring that profit margins and budgets are achieved and exceeded, and costs minimised. 
  • Meeting budgeted labour margins through effective rota management and accurate forecasting/anticipation of trends. 
  • Ensure the Brand Standards are adhered to throughout each and every shift by every team member. 
  • Managing stock, cash control and ordering systems, following our operating and finance procedures. 
  • Making sure that my team and my members are always in a safe and healthy environment. 
  • Ensuring that we recruit great people and induct, train, manage and develop a high-performance team.
  • Setting stretching but achievable targets for my team and reviewing them on a regular basis in their 121s
  • Supporting the club in duty management shifts where required. This will include pool plant room processes, lifeguarding assistance, helping Front of House, potentially carrying out sales tours. 
  • Completion of team rota’s, stock checks, emails, team communication and cashing up procedures.
  • Be an ambassador for Thrive, actively promoting and displaying the Total Fitness Values and behaviours

What are we looking for?

  • NVQ Level 3 in Hospitality and Catering or equivalent desirable
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of managing and leading a team
  • Experience of financial planning and stock control management
  • Can show a genuine passion when engaging with individuals
  • Can demonstrate excellence in customer service
  • Strong listening and collaboration skills
  • Team player
