Swimming Teacher - Wigan & Leigh

  • Salary: £10.52 per hour - Subject to change pending the implementation of a new job evaluation scheme
  • Contract Type: Permanent (50 weeks a year)


  • Job ref 2615 - 4 x 213.75 hours per annum (approx. 17.75 hours per month)
  • Job ref 2619 - 5 x 427.50 hours per annum (approx. 35.5 hours per month)


Working across the Wigan and Leigh areas at Inspiring healthy lifestyles leisure centres including: 

  • Howe Bridge Leisure Centre
  • Ashton Leisure Centre
  • Hindley Pool
  • Leigh Leisure Centre
  • Wigan Life Centre

Inspiring healthy lifestyles is a registered charity delivering a wide range of leisure and wellbeing activities across the Wigan and Leigh.  We are looking for enthusiastic, fun and passionate Swimming Teachers to join our friendly and professional team and do, what you do best; instil a lifesaving skill; the ability to swim.

You will need to be motivated and have dedication to teaching swimming to all ages. You will need to demonstrate flexibility as our working patterns are between the hours of 9.30am – 7.00pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am – 1.00pm Saturday and Sunday our centres across the Wigan and Leigh area. This role is flexible to sit alongside other commitments by providing teaching cover when our Teaching Team take annual leave or to cover sickness absence.  

Skills and qualities required:

Successful applicants must have:

  • Swim England/ ASA or STA Level 2 Teaching Aquatics Qualification.
  • NPLQ or NRASTC qualification or equivalent
