An exciting, small chain private gym operator seeks talented Duty Manager with full day-to-day responsibility for our Swindon Gym.

Friendliness, enthusiasm and problem solving essential.

As a small independent, we pride ourselves on being a close knit family with v low staff turnover, where although you will have a sense of independence and ownership of 'your gym' you will have the support of friendly and capable head office.

Specifically the role entails swapping out with the General Manager (alternative shifts) and tasks include:

• High level of customer service for gym members, liaising with 'head office' as required.
• Touring prospects around the gym as part of membership sales.
• Supervising Personal Trainers, Class Instructors and Cleaning Staff (overseeing a high standard of cleanliness and maintenance throughout the gym, particularly important during Covid).
• Completion of tasks in the Duty Manager's check list, including health and safety and Covid safety.
• Following procedures outlined in Emergency Action Plans in case of emergencies.

Education / Qualifications / Training required

Essential: 

• Level 2 gym instructor
• First Aid at Work

Desirable: 

• Level 3 personal trainer
• Sport & Exercise related a-level or degree
• Spin class instructor

Previous work experience: management in a leisure setting desirable.

Knowledge and experience: knowledge of health and fitness to be able to give good, confident, sound advice to members very desirable.

Personal skills/behaviours/qualities: excellent communication and organisational skills, ability to problem solve, excellent customer service essential. Sales and marketing, along with maintenance and some DIY problem solving a desirable bonus.
