An Exciting Opportunity to Join an Outstanding Team!

We are looking to appoint a Sports Coach for our Basketball Team to plan and deliver weekly coaching sessions, provide feedback and advice on performance and organise games.  You will bring out the best in our students’ abilities through identifying areas for development and implementing appropriate tactics and strategies to release their full potential.

Working annually from September to May, you will be required to facilitate one training session (approximately 1.5 hours on Tuesdays) and one match (approximately 3 hours on Wednesdays) per week.

New College is an outstanding place to work and study, regularly near the top of UK Sixth Form College results tables and awarded outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in 2014.  With a dynamic, positive and supportive culture for staff and students, we have an enviable reputation for staff career progression and development.  With over 2300 students, New College Pontefract is the founding member of the New Collaborative Learning Trust (NCLT).

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious candidate to join our dynamic team at the forefront of change and to make a real difference to raising standards of education in the local community.  New College Pontefract delivers primarily A Level provision, alongside a number of Level 3 BTEC qualifications and some Level 2 provision.

If you believe that you have the skills and abilities to take on this role, we’d love to hear from you.

Closing Date: 24th September 2020.

NCLT will raise standards across our family of schools and colleges.  We will promote a culture of aspiration, excellence and enjoyment.  We will use our collective strengths and expertise to benefit our children and young people.

A charitable company limited by guarantee, registered in England and Wales (company number: 09257194).

NCLT has a commitment to safeguarding students and the successful candidate will be subject to pre-employment checks, including an Enhanced DBS.  We value diversity and actively promote equality of opportunity.  As a Disability Confident Committed Employer, all disabled candidates who meet the minimum criteria for a post will be offered an interview.
