Our Plumber will work as part of a team to support the Facilities Manager to ensure standards are maintained and the general upkeep of the hotel is to standard.

What Will You Be Doing?

Below are some of the duties and responisibilities of a Plumber here at Cliveden House.

  • To take ownership of installing, repair and replacing pipes, valves, potable and non-potable water systems, drainage, waste and vents, basins, tubs, faucets, showers, grease traps, lavatories, sinks, traps, urinals, water heaters, dishwashers, back flow devices, water pressure regulators, and other plumbing fixtures and equipment.
  • To be confident in carrying out installation and maintenance work to heating installations of all types and be fully conversant with all aspects of the heating systems that operate at Cliveden House
  • To be confident in carrying out installation and maintenance work to plumbing, drainage and sanitation installations of all types in domestic and commercial buildings and be fully conversant with all aspects of these systems
  • To take pride in undertaking fault-finding, problem-solving, diagnosis and repair of performance concerns as may affect the operation and proper performance of the plumbing, drainage and heating systems.
  • To complete all forms of regulatory certification as may be appropriate and within the remit of the post-holders relevant qualifications.
  • To undertake associated multi-trades duties such as minor general work.
  • Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using screws, bolts, solder, plastic solvent, and silicon application.
  • Cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angle, using pipe cutters, pipe threading and pipe bending machines.
  • Maintain the Plumbing and Heating system to full working order.
  • Service Radiators and its components to ensure Full working order.
  • Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
  • Ensure that any required qualifications for this position remain valid and that any necessary training is arranged and undertaken in accordance with appropriate timescales. To attend meetings, training sessions and conferences as required.
  • Repair and maintain plumbing by replacing defective washers, or replacing or mending broken pipes. Maintain, repair, and lubricate sewage equipment, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Hold a valid UK driving license in order to shuttle staff from the car park to main building in company van on a rota basis
  • To be available for weekend work on a rota basis, as well as on call shifts when required.
