Fitness Instructor - Part Time - Clitheroe

  • Salary: £16,000 for 30 hours per week
  • Working Hours: Part time, 30 hours per week, on a 7-day rota
  • Additional: Weekend and evening work will be required

The Stonyhurst Sports Centre first opened over 30 years ago as a 25 metre, six-lane swimming pool. Since then, it has grown considerably to include an all-weather pitch, world-class tennis dome, multi-functional gym, fitness studio and café. This is a dual facility used by Stonyhurst pupils and staff, as well as being open to members of the public on a membership or pay as you go basis.

We are currently recruiting for a Part Time Fitness Instructor. A key strength for this role will be your front of house customer service skills and your ability to interact with members and students to give them the best experience possible, so your communication skills will be strong.

You’ll be enthusiastic about the facilities and the service we provide, along with demonstrating a high standard of professionalism and responsibility. You will be able to work well as part of a team and be flexible in your approach to work as these roles will include a variety of tasks on a daily basis across the whole facility. Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness of the facilities and safety of both members and colleagues is important, along with reception duties and opening and closing the facility.

Ideally you will have a minimum qualification of Level 1 and 2 Fitness Instructor and you’ll have gained practical, on the job skills and experience within the leisure industry. You’ll enjoy helping our members achieve their fitness goals through 1-2-1 consultations and creating programs along with the ability to teach a range of classes on the fitness studio timetable.

What’s in it for you?

In return, we can offer;

  • An interesting and varied role within a unique setting
  • The opportunity to enhance your earnings potential by providing a Personal Training service to our members
  • Opportunities for training and professional development as appropriate, we are keen to see you reach your potential
  • Meals are also provided free of charge whilst on shift
  • Swimming pool access, free of charge
  • Discounted membership to the health and fitness facilities
  • Opportunity to join the National Pension Trust scheme
  • Occupational sickness pay (subject to 12 months qualifying service)

Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Stonyhurst is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
