The Role

We are hiring an experienced General Manager for our very busy and popular Licensed Starbucks coffee outlet based within the arrivals hall of Edinburgh Airport. You will have ownership of the store's performance working with your team, responsible for delivering operational and financial results and high standards in customer service. An inspirational leader, as a General Manager you will also be responsible for managing, motivating and developing your team of up to 25 colleagues (including Team Leaders), recruiting, training and managing performance. Ensuring the quality of the coffee and food products is at it's highest and meets brand specifications and ensuring compliance with Health & safety, licensing and legal requirements. You'll be coaching your team to drive sales and control costs to contribute to the stores profitability and help develop their knowledge. You'll be communicating objectives and company goals to your team, observing the customer service delivery and building relationships with customers, client contacts and colleagues. Being in an airport location means we're open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so flexibility to work different shifts is essential to see the business and colleagues operating at different times of the week. It's a 40 hour contract, so 5 x 8 hour shifts working any 5 days from 7.

The Details

To be successful in this role, you will need to have: * Previous experience of managing a diverse team of people in a similar environment such as a branded coffee shop or branded bakery, with coffee/barista skills. * Passion for delivering excellent customer service and knowledge and enthusiasm for great coffee is a must. * Knowledge of working within a 'branded' environment and the procedures and structured processes required to maintain brand standards and achieve good audit results. * Previous experience of having full P&L financial accountability and exercising the necessary controls required when running a unit - (control of GP, labour, profit etc.) as well as sales and marketing plans to drive revenue. * Demonstrable experience in coaching and developing your team to deliver excellent customer service whilst meeting financial and operational targets. The successful candidate will need to provide references covering the past 5 years and complete a criminal record check, in order for us to comply with mandatory airport security regulations and obtain a security ID pass.
