We currently have an unique and exciting opportunity for a  As the Food engagement and Development Manager you will be responsible for providing culinary support across a number of education contracts within London . This support will include delivering special events, management of all student engagement programmes and workshops,  training of culinary teams, monitoring and maintenance of culinary standards, monitoring compliance with Compass procedures and systems, sales and retention presentations and support for client functions.

Job Description

 

  • £XX per hour/annum/pro rata depending on experience

Main Responsibilities

 

 

  • Plan, organise and direct the preparation and cooking of food ensuring that the company’s reputation for quality is enhanced with customers and clients at all times
  • Build rapport with school children from 4-18 years, engaging them and educating them through high energy interactive cooking classes and nutrition workshops
  • Build and maintain positive client relationships, ensuring clients experience and value the additional support Chartwells delivers to a contract (food, nutrition and curriculum engagement).
  • Manage the development of activities and resources in line with the newly published cooking and nutrition curriculum
  • Strive to ensure Chartwells remain ahead of competitors in delivery of cooking and nutrition education
  • Design and deliver new activities that enhance the nutrition and curriculum support we deliver to each school / contract.
  • Possess an exceptional drive for quality for Hospitality events
  • Driving sales through centrally driven menu planning and promotions and preferred suppliers
  • Responsible for all aspects of food safety, HS and COSHH
  • To implement and maintain food monitoring procedures to facilitate budgetary control and to monitor all costs involved in the kitchen against agreed budgets

The Ideal Candidate

 

 

  • Professional Cookery Level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working in a culinary/catering role in the Education environment
  • Passion for great food and excellent service delivery
  • Ability to demonstrate outstanding culinary skills
  • Ability to motivate and develop all levels of chefs
  • Experience in training culinary skills
  • Ability to deliver presentations to all levels confidently and accurately
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels
  • Financially astute with regards to food costings and margin management
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate information
  • Experience of using process and planning to deliver consistent result to expectations
  • Ability to work on own initiative but within a framework
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including; Word, Excel and PowerPoint
