Fusion Lifestyle are recruiting for an Assistant General Manager for this Centre.

Assistant General Managers are responsible for assisting in the overall management of the Centre and are expected to deputise for the General Manager in their absence. You will drive membership sales and secondary revenue, control expenditure; champion health and safety, (ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures), and promote the highest levels of customer service and staff engagement at every opportunity.

To be successful as an Assistant General Manager with Fusion Lifestyle, there are few criteria that you will need to meet. These include:

Essential Qualifications:

  • First Aid at Work and AED qualification
  • Pool Plant Operator qualification
  • National Pool Lifeguard qualification

More About you:
You’ll need substantial management experience, preferably in the leisure, hospitality or retail sectors, (or sectors with high customer footfall), alongside the ability to inspire, motivate and develop your team. As a must you will need to have experience of recruiting, developing and performance managing sizable teams, and significant experience of effectively managing budgets. You’ll also need plenty of health and safety and compliance experience.

Active affiliation with appropriate networks and organisations and ongoing community involvement is also a necessity; excellent communication skills would go hand-in-hand with this, including the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate with clients and third parties.

You’ll also need to be a resilient, results-driven and solutions-focused team player with a “can-do” attitude. As a person you’ll be engaging - championing exemplary standards and service at all times; and a leader capable of empowering you team.

The Role:
Some of the main tasks and responsibilities of this role will include (but are not limited to):

  • Deputising for the General Manager as required
  • Ensuring that the Centre financial targets and KPIs have been communicated to relevant managers and team members and that appropriate plans are in place to ensure targets are achieved
  • Assisting in delivering local sales and marketing plans for membership and swim school, and continuously reviewing the Centre’s fitness and group exercise programmes, to ensure our fitness product is competitive in the market and optimises revenue
  • Continuously reviewing, developing and improving dry side programming
  • Implementing, maintaining and managing an effective system of controls throughout the Centre, covering both financial and non-financial aspects of the business; ensuring revenue protection compliance and conduct weekly audits
  • Providing clear leadership with regards to compliance with all health and safety procedures and legislative requirements, resolving or escalating issues as appropriate
  • Supporting the preparation of annual service plans, financial plans and statistics; Contributing to the delivery of Fusion’s vision, strategy and values
  • Establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with our customers and potential customers; resolving and escalating complaints where appropriate
  • Leading and developing a high performing team through effective recruitment, people management, development, retention and succession planning strategies for the Centre
  • Maintaining own mandatory qualifications, licensing and CPD/training requirements
