Assistant Cook / Chef - Driftwood - Emsworth

Driftwood café is a busy, family run café open 7 days a week from 9am serving fresh cooked-to order breakfasts, light lunches, and traditional Afternoon Tea.

We're looking for people who can work in a fast paced environment with a can do attitude and a passion for homemade, locally produced food.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To support the Chef in the day to day duties of running the kitchen
• To assist with the preparation of the homemade soups, scones, quiches, fillings and all other menu items
• To assist/run Breakfast, Lunch & Afternoon Tea service
• To step up and run the kitchen on the Chef’s day off and holiday and adhere to the Chef’s Job Description
• When required to be responsible for the running of The Pavilion kitchen and adhering to our health and safety food guidelines and ensuring that we retain our 5 stars
• When required to be a key holder, open The Pavilion & perform the visual checks
• When required to ensure that kitchen staff are allocated jobs for the day
• To be able to work with or lead a small fast paced team in a high pressured environment
• To take responsibility for the kitchen ordering when required
• Maintain a clean environment and ensure compliance with all Health and Hygiene regulations
• Make sure relevant paperwork is current and up to date
• To have reliable access to own car
