 Leicester’s newest and freshest hotel/apartment concept has arrived! Interstate Hotels & Resorts are proud to welcome the brand-new Novotel Leicester & Adagio Leicester to their portfolio.

 This exceptional new-build will consist of a 154-bedroom luxury Novotel hotel and Adagio Aparthotel complex containing 98 high spec suites and will be part of the newly regenerated Waterfront area of Leicester. The property will also boast a destination restaurant, within the Novotel property, and will be set to be a culinary spectacle.

Interstate are now looking to start their recruitment process on behalf of the owners and are now looking to recruit an experienced Sous Chef for the Novotel, who will thrive on the successful opening and running of this exciting new concept.

As Sous Chef you will be working very closely with the Head Chef and you must be able to manage and train junior members of the kitchen team, love to cook with local fresh produce and be able to maintain a professional manner at all times. Your role will encompass:

 

  • Assisting the Head Chef in running a profitable kitchen operation by maximising sales opportunities and controlling costs
  • Ensure all Health and Safety polices and food hygiene regulations are adhered to
  • Monitoring and maintaining the quality of food which is produced in the kitchen

 

Role Specifics

The position of Sous Chef will require the following experience and skills:

  • You will be a team player as well as a leader on shift to ensure the brigade work together to ensure the day to day operation is a success
  • Have experience to deliver volume with consistency and to a high standard.
  • Supporting the Management of the Kitchen operation including menu development, ordering and stock control 
  • Have previous experience of working all sections within a busy quality hotel/restaurant is essential
  • Mentor and delegate to other team members including staff training and development
  • Be hardworking and confident in what you do. 

 Ideally you will have:

  • City & Guilds 7061/2 and/or NVQ Level 3
  • 2 yrs. experience as Sous Chef within a branded concept/high street quality restaurant/hotel.
  • Standards orientated, eye for detail, evidence of creative ability
  • Ability to keep calm in 'pressure' situations and manage people effectively
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to communicate at all levels.
  • IT literate

 It is essential that you maintain a 'hands on approach' and create a culture of Inspiration both internally and externally.
