We're on the hunt for strong chefs to strengthen our team, take our original Rockfish to the next level and grow with us.

Founder, restaurateur and food writer, Mitch Tonks is looking for Chefs to join him in his mission to grow award winning Rockfish seafood restaurants. 

This unique opportunity is open to chefs of different specialties and skill sets, with a natural flair for the kitchen.
You’ll join us within England’s seafood coast.

No matter where you start at Rockfish you will always have the opportunity to progress, we will be right behind you helping you to achieve your own ambitions within the business we like nothing more than people achieving their own goals. Rockfish has great energy about it - you will get to work with some amazing people and enjoy some great benefits. We are growing, not fast, but at a steady pace and although we want to change the way seafood is experienced, it will never be at the expense of quality.

Rockfish have 7 seafood restaurants and takeaways in South Devon and now Dorset and celebrate the very best of local and sustainable seafood with a menu of local fish, freshly fried, grilled or cooked on the plancha, plus a great menu from cracked crab to scallops in the half shell, from fried local hake to John Dory and turbot. Everything is available Gluten free. The restaurants enjoy views across the water, with flagship Brixham restaurant right on the Biggest UK fish market, so customers can watch the boat activity and fishermen landing the fish. 

Mitch has gone one step further and Rockfish has its own trawler which lands all of its catch for Rockfish restaurants. Behind the theatre and chic styling is an ethos grounded in sustainability and understanding the importance of safe-guarding fish for future generations & promoting a positive awareness of community & resources. Mitch is also the ambassador for MSC.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
  • Excellent time management abilities
  • Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
  • Familiarity with sanitation regulations
  • Confidence and drive to succeed.
