Hostel / General Manager - Cambridge

Due to an internal move we are now recruiting for a Hostel / General Manager at one of YHA’s oldest and best-loved hostels - YHA Cambridge. This beautiful hostel recently benefited from a £1.4m refurbishment.  This modern accommodation is superbly located to explore the historic city of Cambridge, with 24-hour access and fabulous facilities.

As Hostel / General Manager you will:

• Ensure excellent customer service is maintained at all times
• Achieve 5-star standards of cleanliness
• Drive sales opportunities and controlling Profit & Loss
• Manage, develop and motivate all employees
• Establish and maintain great relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Continually seek area for improvement to the overall products and service within the hostel
• Proactively review and respond to customer feedback
• Ensure the maintenance of the building remains at the highest possible standard

In order to be a great Hostel / General Manager we are looking for people who can:

• Demonstrate previous management experience within the hospitality industry / hotel industry
• Show previous experience of managing, developing and motivating others
• Analyse monthly Profit and Loss Accounts to drive and increase performance
• Demonstrate previous experience of managing and delivering a Food and Beverage function
• Show a good understanding of YHAs culture and values
• Put the customer at the heart of everything you do
