Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a Corporate Accountant (6 month FTC/Secondment) based at our Merlin Business Support Office in Chessington, Surrey.

Key Objectives include...

  • Responsible for reporting of CAPEX projects and Digital project management recharges.
  •  Working alongside the Digital Management accountant to be responsible for the completion of month end reporting for the Digital area.
  • Provide support to Financial Controller – Central Support as required.
  • To provide accurate and timely financial data to budget holders and the Financial Controller.
  • Build relationships with the team and budget holders in London, MBS and Poole, providing financial support to the Digital projects team including ensuring the accurate reporting of time recharges.
  • To provide analysis for the recharge recovery against budgeting including forecasting future recoveries.

 

 We are looking for the following skills & experience…

  • ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent) qualified Accountant.
  • Experience of completing management accounting and month end processes.
  • Happy being ‘in the detail’ of the accounts as well as ability to look at the bigger picture.
  • Experience of working on capital projects.
  • Experience of working on Asset additions, disposal and fixed asset register accounting. 
  • Understanding of Project management and reporting across a large catalog of programs and projects.
  • Stakeholder exposure including presenting to senior management and Exec members.
  • Budget control experience.
  • You will have a good level of personal impact, confidence and credibility, strong verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to relate to a variety of individuals.
  • With strong personal organisation and time management skills.
  • Excellent level of Excel skills including vlookups and Pivots (some Macro knowledge advantageous but not necessary).
  • Regular travel to our other business sites and attractions will also be required (primarily Chessington and London but other sites as required).
  • Knowledge of HFM, Sage and Navision would be beneficial.
