Restaurant Manager - Decimo -​ St. Pancras, London

Opening in July 2019, The Standard, London has boldly propelled The Standard brand onto the international stage. Situated on Euston Road across from the gothic grandeur of St Pancras Station, the hotel is set to become a new cultural crossroad for London and a gateway to Europe.The hotel playfully respects the building's history while creating new expansive spaces for the neighbourhood to play from our bars, lounges and restaurants throughout the building to the 266 rooms and suites.

Set to open in the Autumn of 2019; Michelin-starred Chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias merges the Spanish cuisine of his family with his love of Mexico for his debut London restaurant, Decimo. Expect lots of flavour- aquachile (Mexican ceviche), suckling pig shoulder, vegan paella and a new take on tacos with a dramatically different tortilla. Situated on the 10th floor of the Standard, London, Decimo is uniquely positioned with floor-to-ceiling windows and dramatic views across the London skyline.

At the heart of our hotels are of course our people who through their vibrancy and energy bring our properties to life. We are now seeking a team of diverse and dynamic individuals that will capture the very essence of the Standard London to join our team as a Restaurant Manager for Decimo.

Your role

As a Restaurant Manager at Decimo at the Standard, London, you will oversee our brand new destination restaurant on the top floor, with exceptional evening and late night dining, busy cocktail bar and roof terrace. With overall responsibility for your outlet your role will principally be operational; however, you will manage many aspects of recruitment, training & development, budgeting, payroll and support business development in conjunction with our F&B Managers & Director of F&B.

Most importantly you will ensure you and your team provide the ultimate in guest service delivery, that is anything but Standard! so you will need to be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a high volume, high energy environment and can manage both employees and guest with ease.

While prior experience in a similar role is always useful all are welcome at the Standard; you will have however an uncompromised and natural flair for service and be able to build genuine relationships with guests that enable us to not only preempt needs but foresee desires. In addition to this you will also need….

  • A proven track record in a similar Restaurant Manager role with the ability to inspire and motivate a team, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’, destination restaurant or boutique hotel sector

  • Highly motivated and pro-active; act with professionalism and positivity in all interactions

  • Experience across a range of management disciplines

  • Ability to develop and deliver effective training to maintain consistent service standards throughout your team

  • Opening experience preferred

  • Experience with squirrel POS, open table and Fourth HR
