Job Details

GLL, the UK's largest public leisure provider is looking for Ice Skating Coaches based at Streatham Ice and Leisure Centre in Streatham, South London for our NISA Skate UK Learn to Skate courses for children and adults. The centre runs one of the most successful skating programs in the country with over 700 pupils as well as operating the largest ice rink in London with over 250,000 skating visits a year, turning over £1.3 million.

As an Ice Skating Coach, you'll teach skating skills to all participants ranging from non-skaters to those more experienced in line with the code of practice. You'll set up the equipment for each session plus carry out inspections and undertake maintenance and repair activities.

You'll thrive on seeing people learn, improve and even face their fears over skating - whatever their age or background. You should have experience of delivering the NISA 1-8 Skate UK program or have working knowledge of it and hold your NISA Level 2 qualification. Flexibility, punctuality and reliability are just as important as integrity, a can-do attitude and a real focus on customer service. Passion and personality will stand you in good stead too.

In return, we offer a range of benefits that you'd expect from the UK's largest leisure provider:

  • Pension schemes
  • Discounted membership at our leisure centres
  • Career pathways
  • Ongoing training and development to help you to be the best

If you have the passion and skills for this role, apply now.

The welfare and safety of the children in our care is of the utmost importance to us at GLL. We follow safer recruitment procedures to ensure that our staff are checked and appropriate to work with children and young people. Therefore we'll require you to complete an enhance DBS check before you will be allowed to start work.

All pay rates are subject to skills, experience, qualifications and location.
