Gym Manager - London

We are looking for new talent! We need an experienced and service focused Gym / Studio Manager for TwelveThree Paddington, You will play a key part in building the business. Working alongside the TwelveThree founders you will have a hands-on approach, engaging with members and developing a close understanding of all areas of the business from the product and daily operations to marketing and financial success. A background as a trainer is an advantage or someone who lives fitness. Your ultimate job is to ensure the customer journey from the minute they walk through the door to when they leave is the best experience possible and ensure people leave feeling buzzing.

Your day to day responsibilities include: Operations:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the day to day operation of the gym.
  • You will manage the FOH team including recruitment, team training, team meetings and ensure they provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensuring Team Rotas are produced in advance.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the class timetable ensuring you all your team can explain in detail and with interest all classes on the timetable. You will ensure your teams are aware of all changes to the timetables and are able to describe all classes.
  • You will ensure all membership administration is completed accurately with your team by ensuring the team is trained fully.
  • Ensuring that all gym equipment is kept in good working order and is managed in line with health and safety requirements.
  • A daily walk to check off all daily club manager checks:
  • Conduct a daily cleaning and maintenance check.
  • Check all opening and closing checks have been completed and actioned. o Ensure all club issues are reported to the General Manager immediately where you are unable to resolve.
  • Conduct a health and safety daily, weekly and monthly check and insure all first aid requirements are met.
  • Conduct a daily, weekly and monthly fire check of the gym and ensure all fire fighting equipment is in place and services.
  • Meet with the contract cleaning company at least once a month for a walk around.
  • Apply the Health and Safety and duty of care procedures to all areas within the gym and ensure you and your team have read and understand the Health and Safety manual and procedures.
  • Ensure you mange your club and team and provide the required training in all areas laid out in the Health & Safety & Fire Manuals.
  • Ensure the gym is in line with published legislation. Ensure all risks are dealt with immediately and do not place 12x3 Gym, its staff, members or business partners at any risk of harm.
  • Dealing with all member enquires, issues and complaints.
  • Ensure the banking is completed and you will investigate and resolve any banking issues and notify the General Manager of any discrepancies on a daily basis.
  • You will provide petty cash returns, stocktaking and completed banking sheet
  • You will ensure merchandise displays are set up professionally and all stock items are ordered and available to members at all times.
  • You manage towel stocks and management of towel systems.
  • You will manage the availability of lockers and padlocks for members making sure there are enough available.
  • Produce monthly payroll to the agreed deadline.
  • Ensure you get approval from the GM for all orders placed and review the weekly creditors sheet every Monday.
  • Raise invoices for all studio hires and private sessions with accounts and review the debtors sheet weekly.

Product

  • Build and lead the coaching team.
  • Responsible for recruit new coaches, their inductions and ongoing training.
  • Ensure coaches deliver classes following 12x3 Gym guidelines and what we advertise.
  • Design the monthly class schedule with the General manager ensuing classes meet
  • member demand and taking into consideration always having the right mix of the team and coach deliver the class style that best suits their skillsets.
  • Review class performance monthly and address any underperforming classes.
  • Maximizing the studio timetable, suggesting additional classes and tweaks to current timetable.
  • Responsible for class and trainer related member feedback and enquiries.
  • Responsible for day-to day line management of the coaching team.
  • Work with the Sales & Marketing Manager to assist with Social Media marketing and events.
  • Ensure there are enough trainers available to deliver the class timetable and 1-1 sessions.
  • Ensure coaches have tasks allocated where there are no clients show for classes or PT.
  • Regularly audit the coaches deliver classes and PT and provide feedback so they can continually develop and deliver the best possible client experience. Sales
  • Ensure the sales and marketing plan is delivered and you achieve your monthly sales target.
  • Call all members who wish to cancel.
  • Contacting member renewals.
  • Ensuring all sales leads from walk-ins, calls, emails and trial classes are followed up.
  • Work with the Sales and Marketing Manager and support on any corporate trial and events.
  • Complete sales activity reports for each gym.
  • You will assist with PT promotion and oversee the management of PT booking system.
  • Prepare for and attend a weekly meeting with the General Manager where you will report and feedback on your club for operations, product and sales performance and ensure you are in line with your targets.
