The Pub

The Wharf is a classic pub restaurant situated in Castlefield in Manchester offering a great selection of cask beers, an extensive wine list and high quality, fresh food.  

It is a large building with open areas along with cosy, intimate rooms and alcoves arranged over two floors and therefore lends itself well to hosting, events, meetings and other gatherings in addition to what we offer in our first-rate pub. 

As such, we are looking for an outgoing, friendly and well organised person to proactively develop the events side of our business in the newly created role of Sales and Events Manager.  

The Role

You’ll be responsible for carrying out an independent and procative role, marketing our facilities and planning events with a strong focus on building links with local companies and other businesses.

On a day to day basis you’ll be responsible for approaching potential customers to introduce our pub, managing bookings, the detailed planning of all events and managing all the related administration.

You’ll need to have experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry and have a real passion for great customer service.  

Naturally you’ll be fully IT competent, using programmes such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel as well as being highly proficient across the various social media platforms.  

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm.  From time to time some flexibility may be required to work the occasional evening or week-end.

The position offers a competitive salary of up to £24,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus benefits and you’ll be part of a successful company undergoing an exciting period of growth.
