Working Hours: 40 Hours per week

Salary: £17,264.00 per annum

You should read on as we have full time roles available where you can be supported in achieving the NPLQ for this role.

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our team at Basingstoke Aquadrome who are recruiting for a number of Trainee Lifeguard's to work full time hours between Monday to Sunday on a three-week rota pattern.

Basingstoke Aquadrome has a wide range of facilities offering an excellent choice of sporting and leisure activities.  The facilities include a fitness suite, swimming pool with flumes, rapids and splash pools.  There is also a workout studio, health suite and café.  The Aquadrome is open from 6 am to 10 pm Monday to Friday and 7 am to 8 pm Saturday and Sunday. 

Key purpose of role: 

The role of the Lifeguard is to work within the centre ensuring customer safety and high standards of service and customer care at all times. The role will involve supervision of specific activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and the safe handling and set up of equipment.

Qualifications and Experience:

No previous Lifeguarding experience required, this role is open to anybody who has the desire to be a lifeguard and can meet the minimum requirements in a swim test. A fully financed and supported NPLQ Qualification course will be run for successful applicants.

We will hold swim assessments at time of interview.

To pass the swim test you must be able to do the following:

  • Swim 8 lengths (4 on front & 4 on back total 200 meters)
  • Tread water for 1 minute
  • Surface dive to the deepest part of the pool and retrieve object (deepest part 1.8 meters)
  • Swim 2 lengths (50 meters) in under 60 seconds
  • Climb out unassisted (not using steps)

 

Possible NPLQ course dates from Monday 28th October to Friday 1st November 2019 and exam on the weekend for candidates that pass the interview and swim test, so please make sure you are available for these dates.
