The Holiday Inn London - Kensington is located just off Kensington High Street. It’s a 706 bedroom 4 star hotel with 13 meeting rooms and extensive spa facilities, and we are looking for a Night Security Officer to join our busy and professional team.

The ideal candidate is likely to have worked at least 2 years in a hotel environment, a SIA Licence, be able to demonstrate initiative and be someone who has a reputation for delivering great service and being fun to work with.

Key responsibilities of the role of Night Security Officer include:

  • Assist the hotel in the prevention of loss through the apprehension of persons committing or suspected of committing an offence stated by law or under the Hotel procedures and policies. This will include undertaking investigations and liaison with relevant enforcing authorities, and reporting back to the Security Manager on the most appropriate course of action
  • Responsibility for patrolling the lobby area in order to prevent criminal activity; 
  • Responsibility for the Hotel Fire Plan, taking the appropriate responsibility in the event that the fire alarm is activated
  • Liaison with VIP security personnel if required
  • Assist the Duty Manager with daily matters arising as required
  • Carry out bag and person searches in accordance with Hotel procedures and legal requirements related to such activities
  • Undertake safe and lock checks as required, ensuring that the appropriate remedial action is taken
  • Control of staff locker keys and issue to authorised personnel, including updating of key holders’ lists.
  • Dealing with undesirable and suspicious persons.
  • Dealing with unattended and suspicious objects.
  • Undertake regular building walk rounds and audits in order to ensure that the Hotel remains compliant in all areas of security and health & safety
  • Effective monitoring of CCTV images, checking equipment for continuous recording and effective functioning and maintaining accurate logs and digital copies of footage when required within the stipulations of the Data Protection Act and the Private Security Industry Act.
  • Responding to security and bomb threats and take appropriate action in accordance with hotel emergency and security procedures.
  • Investigation of incidents within the hotel as directed, including reports of missing or damaged personal property, violence, assault, inappropriate behaviour, unauthorised access to guest rooms, mini bars, safe boxes, storerooms and other restricted areas.
  • Compiling all supporting information necessary during investigation of reported incidents, including electronic lock readings, guest profiles, physical evidence, photographs, CCTV footage or any other relevant documentation.
  • Interviewing guest, visitors and staff members as part of supporting information during investigations.
  • Ensure that the intent of the Security Manager is reflected in the operational delivery of a safe and secure environment at the event venue
  • Ensure that all activities are delivered against standard operating procedure
  • Operational reporting as required
  • Ensure that all patrol activity is carried out in accordance with the assignments
  • Ensure the smooth running of the onsite parking and logistics deliveries
  • Other duties will include staff searches, vehicle access/egress policies and site patrolling

The ideal candidate for this position:

  • Should have previous experience of at least 2 years
  • Is required to possess SIA licence
  • Computer skills – Word
  • First Aider - Desirable
  • Able to work flexible hours, weekends, and/or Bank Holidays
