Digital Merchandising Executive - Nuneaton

The Digital Trading team are recruiting for a hands on and highly motivated Digital Merchandising Executive to join the team! The purpose of this role is to support your category areas by ensuring we are driving first class merchandising and product management on site.

Main Responsibilities

  • Owning the product setup process for your category areas in our Content Management System (CMS) ensuring that SEO best practice has been met and all content such as product descriptions have been signed off from our regulatory team
  • Owning the pipeline of New Product Development (NPD) coming into the category and liaising closely with the buying, supply, regulatory teams and external suppliers to ensure we have all information required to get products listed in an efficient manner and to quality control all information being provided to us
  • Briefing the photographer with image requirements for new products on site whether it's a re-shoot or re-edits of supplier imagery
  • Carry out promotional setup work and on site execution including monthly business wide changes, ad hoc digital only campaigns and category level initiatives. Test all promotions in our staging and live environments to ensure the customer message is appearing clearly and the mechanic is working without any issues. Re-merchandise categories to ensure the best experience is given for each product set
  • Briefing and implementing on site creative such as banners to support all promotional activity and new products launches
  • Support with promotional discount code setup and testing for key activity before being launched to the customer
  • Carry out daily/weekly site shopping to ensure the site is fit for trading and any issues quickly rectified to reduce customer impact
  • Carry out regular category performance reviews to spot key trends and to support re-merchandising the site where appropriate
  • Managing the removal of end of life products and to brief re-directs to appropriate pages. Also, removing any links to products and categories from the global website navigation
  • Owning the clearance process, working with the supply and warehouse teams to clear through any products with a short shelf life
  • Owning the relationship with the Customer Services team to resolve any product focused customer issues on site and to re-engineer any processes to mitigate future issues
  • Analysing data from key sources such as Google Analytics and making any recommendations for change or actioning any changes directly on site
  • Utilising key business reports such as website search trends and product availability reporting and taking key actions to make necessary adjustments on-site
  • Supporting the Trading and Merchandising Manager with weekly and monthly category reporting and additional ad hoc reporting when necessary

 

The Person

  • Experience working in an eCommerce team within a fast-paced retail environment
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Experience of CMS platforms - preferably ATG BCC
  • Microsoft Excel experience – up to an intermediate level
  • Basic HTML desirable
  • Understanding of SEO principles desirable
