Swimming Teacher – Whitchurch

Hours – Part-time 6 hours per week -  full training to be provided

Salary: £3,129.36 p.a

 

Whitchurch swimming centre are looking for a swimming teacher on a part-time basis.

 

Whilst most places will require an NPLQ qualification or equivalent, this is not necessary as full training will be given to those who do not possess the qualifications. Above all, Whitchurch are looking for people who can demonstrate the necessary willingness and enthusiasm to succeed in a demanding and ever-changing environment.

 

As a swimming teacher, you will be delivering a safe and structured programme of swimming instruction for both adults and children of various ability levels. Reporting to the aquatics activator, you will be working on a designated working pattern and be supported by the duty manager.

 

Some of the successful swimming teacher’s day to day accountabilities will include:

 

• Providing the safety cover for all adults and children in the lessons
• Instructing and delivering lessons to the classes
• When required, taking responsibility for awarding the appropriate badges and certificates
• Keeping up to date with current developments in swimming and swimming teaching
• Liaising with assistant teachers under your supervision
• Ensuring information relating to the attendance and performance of children and adults is maintained and kept up to date

 

It is also essential that any applicants have a qualification as an ASA Level 2 swimming teacher or STA Award Swimming Teacher. Furthermore, it is also a necessity to have a lifesaving qualification such as an NPLQ or NRASTC.
