Commercial Property Paralegal - Nuneaton

The Paralegal will support a small in-house commercial property team.   Reporting to the Commercial Property Manager, the successful candidate will support the team and liaise closely with the Acquisitions Managers, Surveyors and Project Managers in all aspects of commercial property transactions including acquisitions, lease renewals, licences to alter, general administration matters, litigation and landlord and tenant.

The successful candidate can expect to take on an interesting and varied caseload, both running their own files and working closely to assist the team. 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Obtaining Landlord's consent to shop fit works, drafting licences to alter, assisting with the drafting of renewal leases and making track change amendments to documents
  • Preparing lease renewal reports for Board sign off
  • Preparing and issuing proceedings (Part 8 claims), Section 26 Notices and dealing with Section 25 Notices
  • Lodging Land Registry applications and dealing with requisitions and obtaining documentation from the Land Registry
  • Conducting local authority and coal authority searches
  • Scheduling deeds and maintaining the deeds system
  • Maintaining the dead files system
  • General administrative team support
  • Preparing engrossments for execution

The ideal candidate will

  • have an interest in legal (preferably with a law degree) and a want to further develop their career long term within the legal services industry
  • ideally have at least 12 months relevant experience within a commercial property team with a good grounding in commercial property work
  • have an interest in undertaking CILEX / other relevant qualifications
