Executive Assistant to the Hotel Manager & F&B Director - St Pancras, London

The Standard, London opened in July this year and has propelled The Standard brand onto the international stage. Situated in London’s Kings Cross the hotel is set to become a new cultural crossroad for London and a gateway to Europe.The hotel playfully respects the building's history while creating new expansive spaces for the neighbourhood to play from our bars, lounges and restaurants throughout the building to the 266 rooms and suites ranging from Cosy Core rooms to terraced suites with outdoor bathtubs overlooking St Pancras station.

The lobby lounge, with a carefully curated library pays homage to the building’s original use, with a Sounds studio hosting weekly live music and talks. Executive Chef Adam Rawson’s street facing bar, Double Standard, offers lunch, happy-hour and casual drinking and dining, while his garden restaurant, Isla, features a seasonally-driven, coastal inspired menu. Board the street level, exterior red lift directly to the 10th-floor where Chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias’ forthcoming restaurant will showcase his live fire cooking and the building’s 360-degree views of London.

At the heart of our hotels are of course of people who through their vibrancy and energy bring our properties to life. We are now seeking a team of diverse and dynamic individuals that will capture the very essence of the Standard London to join our team as an Executive Assistant.

Your role

As an Executive Assistant you will become part of a senior executive administration team within the hotel. Supporting both the Hotel Manager and the Director of Food and Beverage, you will provide full administrative support and will undertake a range of responsibilities from diary and event management, liaising with clients, suppliers and members of senior management. You will also be coordinate a number of internal and external meetings, conference calls and taking minutes, as well as organising travel arrangements and appointments for the team.

We are of course in the business of hospitality and in addition to office support you may be required to meet and greet guests on behalf of the Hotel Manager and the Director of Food and Beverage. You will also manage and organise their email inboxes, prepare letters and correspondence on behalf of both directors in addition to respond to various emails on their behalf; so discretion, integrity and superior communication skills are essential for this role.

Most importantly you will ensure you provide the ultimate in guest service delivery, that is anything but Standard! so you will need to be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a high volume, high energy environment and can manage both the senior managers, clients and guest with ease.

While prior experience as an Executive Assistant is always useful all are welcome at the Standard; you will have however an uncompromised and natural flair for service and be able to build genuine relationships with guests that enable us to not only preempt needs but foresee desires. In addition to this you will also need….

  • A proven track record as an Executive Assistant with the ability to inspire and motivate, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ or boutique hotel, or food and beverage sector.
  • A flexible approach to working hours; this role is office hours however offers the ability to work flexibly. There may be the occasional requirement to work evenings, and weekends.
  • Experience at handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • The ability to manage time your own time and prioritise tasks.
  • Exceptional administration and organisation skills with great attention to detail; candidates should have intermediate to advance Microsoft office skills, experience with Opera and other hotel system is advantageous.
  • An approachable, professional attitude with the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders.
  • As the world’s premier international city you will need to be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
