Chef de Partie - The Shireburn Arms Hotel - Hurst Green

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To assist the senior chefs in the daily preparation and service of food, ensuring that the highest standards are maintained at all times, and to ensure that your designated section, equipment and utensils are always kept clean and tidy to the standards required by the Restaurant.

MAIN DUTIES:

• To ensure that food is prepared and presented to the highest standards as required by the Restaurant.
• To produce food as requested by the senior chefs and to present it at the times as required.
• To be fully conversant with all menus, in particular items which are the responsibility of your section, and of their recipes and quantities.
• To assist the senior chefs in rotation of stocks and correct storage procedure ensuring the appropriate stock level. To advise of any irregularities in stock control.
• To liaise closely with all sections of the kitchen to ensure efficient service and maintain high levels of communication with colleagues and other staff.
• Ensure that food product is not wasted and that standard recipes are adhered to at all times.
• To help supervise and check every dish sent from the section to ensure standards are maintained.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

• 2 years’ experience is essential.
• You will maintain high standards of appearance and personal hygiene and always be suitably dressed in clean uniform. This includes adequate non-slip shoes.
• Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
• Must be willing to work varied shifts.
• Good communication skills are essential.
