JOB TITLE: Chelsea Champion Officer (Fulham College Boys School)
DEPARTMENT: Community
REPORTING TO: Senior Chelsea Champion Officer
JOB FUNCTION: To coordinate Chelsea FC Foundation's community, education and emotional wellbeing projects at Fulham College Boys School, developing young people's coping mechanisms and capacity.
CONTRACT: 40 hours per week, any 5 of 7 days, evening and weekends as required.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (Play Your Part):

  • To work closely with School staff, coordinating the delivery of all Chelsea Champions projects, in line with the requirements set out by the funding providers.
  • Deliver a range of sports, diversionary activities and alternative education within Community and Academic timetables, leading on a variety of leadership programmes, including provision outside of term time and during evening and weekends.
  • Deliver a number of schemes of work for the personal development of pupils and families at the School, including the development of a youth forum, mentoring, peer mentoring and family engagement schemes.
  • Lead on the Chelsea Champions Programme responsibilities for quality assurance in accordance with the needs of the school, including monitoring sessional staff performance and development.
  • Attend Local Strategic Partnership meetings. Have an oversight of the local authority's strategy, particularly within young people and education services, ensuring a clear understanding of the emotional health and wellbeing services.
  • Lead on monitoring and evaluation for all Chelsea Champion schemes at the School in accordance with the needs of each funder, complete project reports at 6-month intervals, or as and when required.
  • Ensure success stories are captured, working with Chelsea FC Foundation/Chelsea FC media staff.
  • Ensure the project adopts best practice and adheres to the policy and procedures of Chelsea FC Foundation.
  • Deliver additional roles and responsibilities as required by the Chelsea FC Foundation Senior Management.

MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE (Here to Win):

  • Collaborate with Senior Management Team at the School to develop a weekly timetable of activities to improve young people's resilience and emotional wellbeing.
  • Build relationships with key community partners, youth services, mental health charities, primary schools, grass root providers, NGB's and local authority.
  • Create efficient processes for data capture that are compliant with GDPR.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:
Qualifications:
Essential

  • Level 2 Sports Qualifications relevant to the industry sector.
  • Educated to degree level or have a minimum of 2 years' experience in the industry sector.

Desirable

  • FA Coaching Qualification, Emergency Aid and Safeguarding Children Certificates.
  • Youth Worker Level 2 Qualification.
  • Teaching Qualifications.

Experience:
Essential

  • Ability to build a strong rapport with colleagues and pupils with varying needs. Extending partnerships with a multitude of external agencies to create pathways and to add value to the Chelsea Champions programme.
  • A knowledge of M&E and quality assurance programmes relevant to the industry sector.
  • A strong knowledge of community engagement programmes specifically tailored to the provision of community activities and secondary/primary Schools.
  • Ability to engage with hard to reach groups.
  • Have a good understanding of the key education providers in Hammersmith & Fulham and be able to maintain strong partnerships with main project stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage own timetable and work flexible hours, including evenings and School holidays.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the Chelsea FC Foundation.
  • Knowledge of local demographic and social needs.
  • Experience of coordinating Sessional Staff & Volunteers.
  • Knowledge of PLCF and PLPFA funded projects.
  • Previous experience in working within a school setting.
  • Knowledge of Community Club Organisations and Football Charity Programmes.
