Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a Head of Data Analytics & Insight to join our Global Digital team – part of the Merlin Digital family - to focus on analysing market trends and pulling out insights to support key commercial decision making.  This role will be based at our Merlin Business Support office in Chessington, Surrey or in County Hall, London.
 Reporting into the Digital Strategy & Insight Director, the Head of Data Analytics & Insight will be responsible for identifying and delivering insight that will drive the performance of Merlin’s across all it business lines; Admissions tickets, Annual Passes and Short Break holidays. Your exceptional insight will allow the management teams to make informed business decisions.
As well as delivering eCommerce business reporting you will be expected to undertake deep dive analysis to understand and address key business challenges and make recommendations.
You will be a key part of the Digital Marketing Strategy & Insight team and pivotal in providing real, fact-based insight and making recommendations that will have the ability to change the way that Merlin conducts its online business – and improving performance on a global basis. 

Key Objectives & Responsibilities:

Be the ‘go-to person’ for analytics and meaningful insight that addresses real and relevant business issues, with a focus on E-Commerce platform but also a wider understanding of the impact on other marketing channels and areas.
Improving the analytical tools and company’s data strategies being able to communicate the best analytical insight to the business.
Producing in-depth analysis, summaries, reports & presentations.
Spearhead the automation of reports and dashboards to be used globally - putting real time reporting in the hands of regional eCommerce team & and media agencies to improve trading performance.
Work closely with Conversation Rate Optimization (CRO) Manager feeding in insight and providing analytics support to develop a test and learn / experiments programme to build efficiency of brand E-Commerce platform and marketing channels.
Work closely with business partners and stakeholders including Heads of Short Breaks, Regional Heads of E-Commerce and Finance Partners.
Develop and maintain robust business reporting highlighting performance of the E-Commerce platforms and marketing channels. 
Work closely Head of Loyalty & CRM to better understand the behaviour, tends and segments of our customer base 
Manage and develop the Web Analytics Manager and Data Analyst.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

Excellent communicator, able to clearly identify and articulate key insights and recommendations to drive business decision-making with Stakeholders at senior level.
Exceptional Stakeholder Manager, sensitive to ‘client’ requirements and able to set expectations and time-manage to an advanced level.
Diplomatic and sensitive to the potentially difficult decision making that may result from their recommendations – able to understand and judge potentially tricky situations.
Passionate about and have solid experience in web analytics within online retail or other relevant industry.
Advanced working knowledge of analytics tools such as Google Analytics 360, Big Query, Webtrends,Hitwise, etc.
Working knowledge of SQL databases is an advantage.
Working Knowledge of sales and margin reporting process and data management tools.
Technical working experience of analytical tracking, website tagging and creating sales funnels.
Commercially minded and experienced in interpreting data into meaningful information and actions.
Ability to consider analytics from a real customer perspective.
An enthusiastic & flexible working attitude with a passion for metrics and quantitative analysis and a willingness to support others and cover areas outside your role remit or natural comfort zone.
Highly numerate with strong commercial acumen and advanced Excel Skills.
Previous Management experience.
