About the role...
As a Commis Chef, you will undertake a high standard of food preparation work and basic cooking under the supervision of a Chef de Partie or section chef, rotating through sections such as sauce, vegetables, fish and butchery.
This is a great opportunity to learn and develop your culinary skills working for a large growing group –a company which values their staff, and encourages career progression through training and development.
Within our kitchen we have a variety of sections and skilled chefs for you to learn from including pastry.
The successful candidate will have a passion for food, be able to work within a team or alone and be able to remain calm under pressure. Ideally you would have worked in a similar role / environment and be used to working with a variety of dishes. You will be eager to learn and develop through the support of your peers.
The Cairn Group’s Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre is a modern hotel conveniently located near to the Birmingham New Street train station.
The hotel is within an easy walk of the great bars and restaurants found in the Arcadian complex, as well as both the Hippodrome and New Alexandra theatres, Birmingham’s China Town district, The Mailbox shopping centre and the Bullring commercial area.
