Receptionist - Liverpool

As a Receptionist you will be responsible for taking bookings and receiving guests in a warm and welcoming manner, always with a smile, ensuring the highest levels of customer care from the customer’s first point of contact to the moment they leave. You must ensure that you are up-to-date with all necessary product and service information to be able to offer guidance and advice to guests no matter what the enquiry. You will have advanced communication and presentation skills and will be expected to work in a professional manner, being flexible, dynamic, proactive and enthusiastic. 

You will be expected to: 

  • Maintain high levels of personal hygiene and immaculate presentation 
  • Work well within the team, communicating effectively with all necessary team members to ensure customers receive the highest level of products and service within good time and to ensure all preparation, closing down and other associated tasks are completed effectively and efficiently 
  • Receive instructions courteously, showing respect to those that manage you and give instructions to junior members of the reception team in a helpful and respectful manner 
  • Respond to the dynamics of the service environment, being proactive at quiet times whilst anticipating and meeting the needs of the fast paced restaurant environment 
  • Learn about the Fazenda concept in order to effectively explain to customers and potential customers what the Fazenda experience involves (training will be provided) 
  • Learn all necessary information which may be needed in answer to customers’ frequently asked questions, including but not limited to: prices of meals for different times, procedures for bookings and taking deposits, issuing confirmations and any necessary terms and conditions, special options for different dietary needs, etc. 
  • Taking bookings in a friendly, helpful and accurate manner and confirming details back to the customers to double-check their accuracy 
  • Planning the seating for the evening, communicating table sizes and special requests to other reception staff, managers, waiters, passadores and kitchen staff as required 
  • Updating the stock system if requested to by the Head of Front Office (full training will be provided) 
  • Be willing to cross-train, developing skills that enable you to work in other departments when necessary and being prepared to assist in other departments when required  
  • Pay attention to detail at all times 
  • Learn how to use the electronic point of sale (till) to place customer’s orders whenever required and to processes deposits and gift vouchers  
  • Take payments accurately 
  • Comply with our staff Handbook policies 
  • Ensure guests are given a prompt, friendly and efficient service from the moment they enter the restaurant and ensure their expectations are consistently exceeded 
  • Assist in cleaning the bar tables and ensuring their correct presentation when required 
  • Ensure the reception area is always clean, tidy and stocked up with any items that you may need to hand, e.g. menus, business cards, gift cards, paper and ink in the printer etc. 
  • Keep customers well informed about any products/services they are waiting on, giving the reasons why, if they might have to wait longer than they expected. 
  • Communicate with managers in the event that customers have to wait for their table, so they can decide whether to offer complimentary drinks whilst waiting 

General 

  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role. 
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested by the management to ensure customer service and health and safety standards are not compromised in the event of unforeseen circumstances, such as un-notified absence of other staff members.
