Sales and Marketing Executive - Edinburgh

You will be based in Mercure Edinburgh Hotel and responsible for assisting the team to drive room, food and beverage sales. A large part of the role will be to identify gaps in the business and use your marketing skills to bring the product to the market. A good knowledge, therefore of all marketing platforms, digital and social media will be essential to ensure a strong online presence.

Job Role

  • Monitor and manage all social media activation for the Hotel and support departmental and company initiatives;
  • Assist in setting and carrying out marketing strategies and monitor performance
  • Ensure the photo library is current and accurate reflecting brand standards.
  • Be a brand champion and ensure that all in-house collateral is to brand standards
  • Liaise with Central Marketing and ascertain the effectiveness of digital activity and make recommendations to improve performance
  • Make effective use of e-newsletters and on-line marketing campaigns to drive business
  • Conduct competitor research and stay up to date with the latest market trends;
  • Assist in growing hotel databases to promote all hotel services ensuring GDPR compliance
  • Monitor and review hotel online presence to ensure it is accurate and up to date
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with all hotel departments and support office functions
  • Drive local marking to promote Scott’s Restaurant and ensure a robust marketing plan is in place

  • Previous hotel experience would be a benefit

Experiences & Skills

  • E-commerce, Communication or Marketing Degree  
  • Previous experience within Social Media/Content Creation
  • Experience of the main functions of marketing and leading smaller projects
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with various levels of management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
