Regional Sales Manager – North – Membership Sales (Leisure) – Six month FTC

Location: Home based with travel to Serco’s Leisure sites in Lancashire

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 + Commission + Car (Commission paid monthly)

Serco Leisure are looking to recruit a Talented Membership Sales Manager to cover the Northern region on a 6 month FTC with the possibility of further extension.

The post holder will be expected to work efficiently within their designated region, travel will be required to suit the needs of the business, however overnight stays will be infrequent. The role will deputise for the National Sales Manager in their absence with dotted line management of Cluster Sales Manager & Sales teams within their region. However all HR responsibility will still stay with their direct line managers.

The purpose of this position is to cascade and deliver the national membership sales strategy within their designated region through management of monthly and annual business plan targets (New Sales Units, Revenue, net member growth, debt recovery) for H&F and Swim memberships.

Principal Duties

The post holder will be required to consistently deliver on a hands-on basis the following in an effective manner:

  • Strong effective and supportive leadership at all times Motivation and management of teams/ individuals at all times. Reporting weekly/ monthly regional membership sales performance to the National Sales Manager.
  • Delivery of quarterly regional/ contract sales training. (Frequency dependent on need)
  • Responsible for Regional sales process audits and performance management through use of standardised sales management tools available.
  • Regular communication with contract management regarding contract sales performance.
  • Management of resource and providing relevant solution to assist contract management
  • Delivery of Recruitment and standardised training on all new membership advisors in their region in support of the contract management.
  • Involvement in National sales & marketing campaign planning and delivery on an ongoing basis.
  • Driving new business through regional corporate business development activity/incentives.
  • Delivery of monthly sales launch communication ( meetings/conference call/ webex)
  • Input in Quarterly National Membership Sales/ Marketing Meetings.
  • Design and deliver new sales & renewals campaigns.
  • Undertaking ad-hoc sales related tasked on behalf of the National Sales manager, SME’s , Business Development or Serco leisure Board.

Qualification & Experience Level

The post holder will be able to demonstrate experience of:

  • A thorough and in-depth knowledge of Health and Fitness A minimum of 3 years sales management experience ( operational commercial management experience is acceptable) A thorough and in-depth knowledge of The Membership Sales process Leading by example. Designing, planning and implementing a sales strategy ( sales plan) Managing a sales process across multiple sites, venues, facilities. Performance management related to sales inputs and outputs. Training and coaching individuals Excellent analytical skills ( report dissection) Excellent hands on skill and ability within membership sales
