Home Editorial Assistant - London

Reporting to: Editorial Manager

Role purpose: We are looking for an exceptional Editorial Assistant to assist the marketing team in the creation of home content, across all the House of Fraser platforms.

The role requires a passionate individual who has a keen interest in the world of interiors and homeware, with the ability to write creatively and bring the commercial requirements of the business to life in an exciting and inspirational manner.

This will include writing and planning home content across editorial features, social media, emails and instore and online. There will also be the opportunity to get involved in home shoots and campaigns.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to the onsite conversion performance with product selections and image sourcing for onsite features, landing pages and emails
  • Perform thorough site checks when new content is going live on site
  • Manage and keep up-to-date various calendars of campaign and trading content activities
  • Assist the wider editorial team
  • Nurture relationships with the buying teams in home to ensure you are in the loop and thinking as commercially as possible
  • Write and upload editorial features for the on site content hub, following brand and SEO guidelines
  • Plan and create home social media posts
  • Assist the Editorial Manager with any home shoots

Skills, know-how and experience. Must have:

  • Passionate and curious about our customers, House of Fraser, retail and our brands
  • Some experience working in the world of interiors or fashion in publishing, fashion or retail
  • Excellent grammar and English – preferably to degree level
  • A strong visual eye
  • Brilliant storytelling skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • A passion for interiors, fashion and retail, including photography and imagery
  • Pro-active and willing and able to work using own initiative
  • Fun, friendly team player and ability to work at pace
  • Inquisitive and keen to innovate and find new stories
  • Self-starter, able to prioritise and show resilience
  • Ability to keep calm, work at pace under pressure, be flexible and able to deal with ambiguity, frequent changes and ad hoc requests
  • Excellent planning, admin and organisational skills
