Room Service Supervisor - Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa, Hampshire

Aim of the role

To assist the Restaurant Manager in the smooth running and organisation of room service and occasionally in the restaurant.

Responsibilities

  • To take ownership and ensure the smooth running of Room service to the standard laid by the Company.
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager in looking at new methods which can be utilised to improve standards and provide a consistent service.
  • Assist in the control of cleaning rotas and regular spot checks.
  • To be confident and ensure that all trays taken to the rooms are checked before being delivered.
  • To work alongside the Restaurant Manager on recruitment and induction programmes. To be passionate in ensuring all new staff are settled in and shown all relevant information.
  • To take pride in assisting the Restaurant Manager to ensure that regular training is provided and recorded to ensure ongoing improvements.
  • To take pride in assisting the Restaurant Manager in the preparation and presentation of training programmes, briefings and SOPS's
  • To be confident in: reporting, monitoring or handling small disciplinary matters
  • To be aware and take pride in promoting all services offered in the Hotel
  • To ensure that all guest wishes are met so far as is reasonably possible
  • To ensure that all staff call guests by their correct name and title
  • To ensure that the service is at all times performed in a professional and respectful manner and to the style as specified by the Restaurant Manager.
  • To be fully conversant with the room service menu and to provide explanations if requested.
  • To communicate with other Room service waiters, Restaurant staff and departments.
  • To make sure that Company Policy and the Vision Statement are followed and utilised at all times.
  • To be confident in ensuring that the preparations and mise en place are correct and to the standard set by the Company.
  • To ensure that all tasks set are completed in the time allocated and to the standard set by the Company.
  • To ensure that you are fully aware of the location of each room in the Hotel and of the quickest way to reach them.
  • To ensure that service is discrete and efficient at all times using your integrity and intuition.
  • To be fully aware of the Hotel's fire safety procedures and Health & Safety regulations.
