Main role and objectives:

As our Assistant Meetings and Events Operations Manager you are responsible for overseeing the Meetings and Events department alongside the Meetings and Events Operations Manager, ensuring the overall smooth running of the department on a day to day basis and managing a team of Meetings and Events professionals.  

Your responsibilities:

- Leading the Meetings and Events team from the front by setting a positive example and modeling the company’s values in your interactions with the team and other departments

- Providing business development ideas to improve quality of products offered to our Events guests

- Ensuring all wage costs are kept within budgeted guidelines and efficient manning levels are maintained whilst maximising productivity of all team members

- Liaising with suppliers, manufacturers and other business partners, for instance staffing agencies in the recruitment and management of temporary team members

- Representing the hotel during show rounds to provide technical/operational knowledge and guidance to the client to ensure conversion of the enquiry and the smooth running of their event

- Accountable for efficient ordering of all necessary equipment, to ensure the proficient running of the Events operation

What we are looking for:

- Someone with previous management experience within a Meetings and Events environment

- Someone who is passionate about exceeding guest expectations

- Someone who is great at creating and maintaining positive and productive working relationships across the business, communicating effectively in a range of situations

- A leader who is passionate about engaging, inspiring and developing their team

- Someone who enjoys working in a fast paced environment while leading from the front

- Experience of working with Micros would be desirable, but is not essential
