Deputy Manager - Wootton, Abingdon

Here at Brunning & Price we have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join our team based in Wootton, Near Oxford. Working with us you will receive a highly competitive salary of up to £28,000 and will be a member of a friendly close-knit team.

Brunning and Price is a collection of individual pub restaurants each with its own style and flavour.  We like to think we run informal places for people who like to meet, eat, drink and talk in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The Pub

This handsome village pub looks much the same as it would have when it was built from mellow Cotswold stone some 400 years ago.

We like to think that the Greyhound has character and atmosphere in spades, and feels just as a traditional country pub should feel. We are very proud of our garden and hope it delights through all seasons. Considering it is a venerable old building, it has to date proved surprisingly difficult to track down the history of the Greyhound, but the best estimate has it that the pub is about 400 years old. It was a former coaching inn that stood on one of the major turnpike roads from Oxford to the West Country, and as such at one time it had a blacksmith's forge attached to the pub to the facilitate re-shoeing of horses.

The Role

Our Deputy Managers are key members of the management team, supporting the Manager in all aspects of the day to day running of the pub.
