Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 + Excellent Benefits Package

Purpose of Job / Key Objectives

The National Centres Marketing Manager – Sports is responsible for the business marketing development plans and delivery of the four National Sports Centre sites operated by Serco Leisure - Bisham Abbey, Lilleshall, Holme Pierrepont Country Park home of The National Water Sport Centre and Stoke Mandeville Stadium. These are centres of excellence not only for the country’s leading sportsmen and women, but also the local community and sports groups.

 

 

 

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Marketing Manager will play a key role in supporting the effective design and delivery of the Sport England marketing strategy as well as supporting the development and delivery of contract/area specific marketing plans to deliver revenue targets and meet client and stakeholder expectations. All activity must deliver financial objectives on time and to budget.

Principal Duties

  • Work with the National Centres Senior Management Team to create and be responsible for the delivery of the overall Serco National Centres & Sport England marketing strategies for sports related business plan performance targets.
  • Deliver across the marketing mix for all the National Centres’ B2B and B2C acitivities to support them achieving revenue and other targets.
  • Be responsible for increasing brand awareness across all four sites, increasing their digital footprint and understanding the client demographics to improve marketing messages.
  • Lead in all PR activities and support with responding to media enquiries for the four sites
  • Lead in the roll-out of stronger digital strategy including supporting with new websites where required and driving increased online bookings of all activities across all four businesses.
  • Using available data to identify business/market development opportunities on a localised level and as part of a national team.
  • Work effectively with the full Marketing, Design and Digital communications team.
  • Support the Partnership Director, the Senior Management Team and facility managers in the effective management of the success of the contract(s) and effective marketing budget(s) spend.
  • Providing weekly and monthly management information and performance monitoring data to report the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
  • Ensure all activity undertaken at a national and localised level is compliant with legal practices and marketing codes.
  • Lead in sports destination marketing across the sites
  • Undertake any other duties as required as directed by your line manager.

Qualification Level

  • Degree in Marketing or other business-related subject (preferred but not essential)
  • CIM qualification or professional accreditation (desirable)

Experience Level

The Marketing Managers should be able to demonstrate a level of experience and knowledge commensurate with the position in:

  • Experience of creating marketing plans and managing marketing budgets that deliver results
  • Experience of working through launching new initiatives and creating new concepts in partnership with the design and digital colleagues through creative processes
  • Strong digital marketing and results driven experience of working with Website CMS, CRMs, social media and PPC advertising
  • Previous experience of working in a B2C environment and B2B venue or leisure marketing experience
  • Experienced in PR
