We’re seeking a Reception Manager to join the Strand Palace team. This opportunity comes at an exciting time for the hotel. Your input will have a direct impact the business as we are undergoing a multi-million-pound investment in readiness for the 2020s.

Our hotel 

Strand Palace has welcomed guests since 1905. Our journey has been very special and there is no stopping us. All 785 guestrooms are being refurbished and they feature a modern art deco style, providing a fresh and utilitarian aesthetic.

Work has just been completed in the hotel’s public areas including a new restaurant and bar Haxells, in a modern and contemporary style. The hotel attracts a wide demographic, across all ages, for both leisure and business travel, from a variety of domestic and international markets.

The team at the Strand Palace is also very diverse. From new comers making their way to the industry to some of the most experienced professionals in London. The ideal candidate

You will have a reception background gained in high pace large 4* or 5* hotels. It is a must that you have worked in a management capacity. You will be innovative and be able to cite ideas to improve guest service. You will be able to inspire a large team and instil a thirst for high standards and quality. You will be able to influence the service culture in your team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure guest satisfaction is constantly monitored and delivered and that any shortfall in standards/  complaints and guest issues are dealt with effectively and rectified
  • Ensure ‘check-in’ and ‘check-out’ procedures and other day to day operations of the reception area are run effectively and efficiently
  • Ensure all administration, guest accounts, accounting procedures and are completed to required standard
  • Ensure there is effective communication within the team and between Reception and other departments
  • Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics to inspire the team to meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Management of the team ensuring effective recruitment, performance management and employee relations
  • Ensure departmental induction and training for new and existing team members to meet the required Hotel standard of performance, ensuring that all training is recorded
