Job Title - Assistant Area Scout (Youth)
Region - North East/Scotland
Working Hours - Part-Time

JOB FUNCTION

An entry level position to assist in providing accurate and actionable information on external players for the purposes of player recruitment through scouting of matches.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend/watch games and report in line with the CFC reporting procedures and time frames.
  • Assist in making recommendations for your area in line with the CFC reporting procedures and time frames.
  • Scout across other areas within region as directed by senior staff.
  • Assist in researching games and liaise with Area Scout to plan upcoming fixtures for scheduling.
  • Attend scout meetings as required.
  • Assist in coverage of tournaments within area and reporting in line with procedures and time frames.
  • Assist Area Scout in maintaining details of work covered in the area.
  • Develop a strong network of contacts within your region including Sports Directors, Academy Managers, Coaches, Agents, and other key stakeholders.
  • Assist in the collection of background information on target players from your region.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on the in-house players at Chelsea FC across specific age groups.
  • Complete video scout assignments on a weekly basis as directed.
  • Assist on any other scouting project as required by Chelsea FC.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

  • Keen interest in football and desire to pursue a career in football scouting.
  • Valid Passport and driving licence.
  • Minimum of FA Level 1 Talent ID Qualification or Level 2 Coaching Licence.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Willing to take responsibility and follow tasks to a successful completion.
  • Be personable and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Highly computer literate in office suite and ability to use in-house databases.
  • Higher pass at GCSE English and Maths (or international equivalent).
