Salary: up to £26,000 per annum + Fantastic Benefits
Contract: Full Time – 40 Hours per week
Stoke Mandeville Stadium is the National Centre for Disability Sport and boasts the highest grade of facilities for our leading sportsmen and women. This high-grade leisure complex has become known as the ‘home of wheelchair sport’ and the ‘birthplace of the Paralympic Games’. Our aim is to become an inspirational sporting facility shared and enjoyed by both disabled and non-disabled sports men and women.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team at Stoke Mandeville who are recruiting for a Head Chef to work full time, 40 hours per week working, on a shift pattern 5 days out of 7 including 6am starts and 10.30pm finishes.
As the successful candidate, you will inspire, lead, motivate and supervise the Kitchen team and have full responsibility for food storing, preparation, production, cooking and service to the all catering outlets including but not limited to restaurants, cafes and bars, conference and Banqueting, outside catering and private dining.
You will be responsible for designing menu’s that include healthy options for elite athletes, on site team and visitors to events.
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate a previous experience as a Head Chef in a hotel or in the travel, leisure and tourism industry.
You should have a good eye for detail ensuring that the Kitchen is operating at the expected high level as set out by the organisation.
You will be energetic and enthusiastic with a real passion for cooking with fresh ingredients, to wow our guests.
Education and Knowledge
- City & Guilds diploma in professional cookery
- BTEC HND in professional cookery
- Health and safety level 3
- Food hygiene certificate to level 3
- Competent computer skills with word, XL and Outlook or similar
