As a Receptionist working on a rolling rota you will play a vital role in the daily operations of Oriam. You will be part of the team at the forefront of this world class sporting facility providing a four-star reception service. As the first point of contact you will be expected to deliver a service which is friendly, welcoming and informative to all customers.

The role of the Receptionist is to undertake a range of front of house duties including administrative and financial tasks which ensure the efficient running of Oriam. It is vital that you are highly knowledgeable about all our services and are able to respond in detail to customer enquires or to sign post customers to wider members of the team as required.

You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer support to all customers. This includes greeting customers into the facility, processing their enquiries, answering questions and ensuring the customer is made to feel welcome and valued. You will support the sales team with membership enquires and sales. You will make customer bookings and respond customer enquires both by telephone and in person.

As well as being able to demonstrate the core competencies of the organisation and the specialist competences required of the role there are a number of specific tasks that will be routinely required of the post holder. In addition, the post holder is required to carry out any task necessary to ensure we continually deliver exceptional service to our customers. 

  • Provide a four-star reception service ensuring customers are welcomed to Oriam and receive exceptional service.
  • Process customers efficiently through reception making bookings, recording attendance, taking payments and responding knowledgably to customer enquiries.
  • Manage reception functions through our management system, this includes, tilling, bookings, membership and access control.
  • Manage customer enquires either responding immediately with the information required or sign posting the customer to the relevant person in the team who can manage their enquiry.
  • Answering telephone call and emails efficiently and in line with set protocols.
  • Providing customers with membership information and when required to sell memberships ensuring the sales processes are followed.
  • Work as part of a team but equally important is the ability to use initiative and make independent decisions when appropriate.
  • Excellent time management with the ability to priorities and adapt to rapidly changing situations.
  • Financial duties to support operations.  This includes daily till/cash reconciliation, setting up and maintaining customer’s Direct Debits accounts for memberships.
  • General administration, reception and financial tasks as required.
  • Cover the tasks as required to ensure front of house service is prioritised at all times.
