The Britannia, Darlington is a traditional ale house located in beautiful County Durham. Known as 'The Brit', it’s a fantastic community pub that was fully refurbished last year. The pub is well known for specialising in quality cask ale. Boasting six hand pulls that host regular guest and local ales. The pub is well supported by the community who enjoy the welcoming atmosphere, quality drink offers and regular live folk music and acoustic nights.

Business facilities
This is a really cosy traditional pub. The main bar area boasts both fixed and loose seating which is raised at the far end and features a great, real, fireplace. Perfect for those winter evenings. The pub also has a small snug area with fixed seating round the sides. Currently used as an overflow from the main bar area and also for community meetings. The pub offers a car par park to the side with space for up to 8 cars and a covered, heated smoking shelter with benches.

About the local area
The Britannia is located on the edge of Darlington town centre. Darlington is a historic market town in County Durham which is the perfect blend of old and new. Steeped in history, Darlington is still popular with visiting 'Steam Heads' who visit the living/working, Head of Steam Darlington Railway Museum.
The pub is just a short walk from Darlington's famous covered market which recently won 2019's 'Great British Market Award Winner' for the best food market category.
It is also directly adjacent to a number of independent businesses, well known retailers and local housing. Footfall will mainly come from local residents, however there is potential for additional passing trade.

We are looking for experienced operators who have a clear passion for pubs and are experts in providing quality cask ale. A great personality to build strong and lasting relationships within the local community and the ability to drive live music and community events all year round.

About the agreement

Our Tenancy agreements vary between 3 - 5 years and offer a flexible approach to running your own pub business. Your pub will be ready to trade, with carefully tailored food and drinks menus in place which you can evolve as you go along.
You will receive a high level of support and everything you need to run a successful business. From the beginning, you will have dedicated Punch Development Manager, plus access to training and development, business planning, operations and accounting expertise.
Once you've completed the 5-day induction course we'll provide you with ongoing support to help you maximise the efficiency, sales and profitability of your pub. This includes helping you decide on the right drinks offer, guidance on margin and support creating a marketing plan to build for continued success. To help market your pub, we also offer lots of support and advice.
Punch Tenancy agreements have shared repairs liability, we will help you manage your ongoing repairing obligations. We do this by operating a repairs and maintenance fund for all new agreements.

* The calculation of the initial Ingoing Costs assumes a minimum deposit (3,000 or 6,000) plus legal fees. The subsequent deposit build up (if any) will need to be paid over 52 weeks. This can be discussed withe the recruitment team or Punch Development Manager
