Leisure Centre Operations Trainer (Part Time) - London

Fusion Lifestyle are recruiting for an Operational Trainer, to identify, design, deliver and evaluate our regulatory and statutory training programme; and to ensure maximum compliance across all areas of responsibility. The role is part-time with a minimum of 24 hours guaranteed per week (Spread over 3 days) , there is also the possibility to pick up additional hours dependant on booking demands!

The Role:
Reporting directly to the Qualifications and Standards Lead, the Operational Trainer role will mainly cover training delivery in the West London, Midlands, Oxford and the South West areas. This is a field based role where your mileage would be paid for by Fusion, and although you would be contracted to work 24 hours per week (3 days), there would be a certain level of self-discipline and dedication involved, with the expectation being that you would plan delivery of training as and when possible as priority.

About You:
As the Operational Trainer you will benefit from working within a small, innovative and creative team, and the flexibility of working on a part-time basis to fit in around your other commitments. The position would ideally suit someone with knowledge of the Leisure Industry and its assessment methodologies, a willingness to travel often and stay overnight on occasions, and someone with knowledge of the relationships between regulatory bodies and the Employer.
You will need the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels and abilities, and experience of working with diverse learner’s needs. 
Experience of delivering related training, and at least 5 years’ experience of working within a pool plant room are essential.

Other essential qualifications and knowledge:

  • NPLQ Trainer Assessor and FAW Trainer Assessor (IQL preferable)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of rules and regulations surrounding First Aid at Work (FAW), and Health and Safety at work Act
  • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and Pool Plant Operator (PPO)
  • COSHH, Fire Safety, and Safeguarding Children Trainer Assessor
  • Swim Teacher Tutor (Swim England)
  • Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (formally V1 or D34)

Some of the main tasks and responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide high quality and engaging training in the compliance areas identified by the business
  • Design training courses and programmes, and ensure training is tailored to relevant sites; assessing relevant training needs of staff, individuals and the organisation
  • Ensure all training delivered is evaluated for effectiveness and knowledge retention, and is in line with awarding body’s stipulated requirements
  • Ensure Qualifications and Standards Lead is kept fully informed of all training statistics, activities and evaluation of results; including the monitoring and reporting of costs, performance, etc., as required
  • Organise training venues, logistics and transport as required, to achieve efficient training attendance and delivery
  • Plan and deliver training courses personally, ensuring augmentation of training that has been provided externally and/or internally
  • Ensure all training activities and materials meet with relevant organisational and statutory policies, including health and safety, employment and equality laws
  • Provide support to central mobilisation projects as and when necessary
