Job Details

GLL are looking for experienced Diving Coaches to work at the London Aquatics Centre (LAC), set in the iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, East London.

Participation in diving has been steadily increasing over the past seven years, and nowhere more so than at GLL. In 2014, we launched our Tom Daley Diving Academy at the London Aquatics Centre which has been gaining pace ever since. We're proud to work closely with Tom and his coach to continually build on our diving offering, including bringing even more dive experts into our growing team. It is now the largest diving programme currently in operation. With eight dedicated diving pools and numerous more pools where we coach fundamental diving skills, we now teach around 100 lessons to nearly 1,000 people each week. We operate some of the most prestigious diving facilities not only in the UK, but in the world. The London Aquatics Centre (LAC) is the iconic venue from the London 2012 Olympics and features five diving platforms (including a 10m platform), seven spring boards, a movable floor which operates from 5m and the best dry dive facility in the world. The LAC is the home of London diving and the main hub of the Tom Daley Diving Academy. We also operate the impressive Manchester Aquatics Centre - the purpose built pool and diving facility used in the 2002 Commonwealth Games.

We aim to widen participation in diving even further. That's where you come in. With so many locations and courses already happening in our centres around the country, you can expect several hours of work each week plus the possibility of working at more than one facility. We don't restrict your contract, so you're free to teach with us and with any other clubs that you may already be working with - and you'll get to learn from some of the most elite diving coaches in the world! With GLL being a not-for-profit, charitable social enterprise, you can be certain that you'll be contributing to the community whilst giving more people the opportunity to partake in the sport that you love.

To provide safe and enjoyable diving lessons with GLL, you'll need a minimum Level 1 Certificate for Coaching Diving and understand the ASA Diving Awards and British Diving skills techniques - we'll also give you all the training you need for the Tom Daley Diving Academy. You'll understand pupils' needs and be able to coach a diverse range of people from children through to adults and nervous beginners to confident elite-standard. Passionate about helping people to achieve more and about the GLL community ethos, you'll provide excellent customer service to all and actively promote diving at GLL and the Tom Daley Diving Academy.

In return, we offer a range of benefits that you'd expect from the UK's largest leisure provider:

  • Pension schemes
  • Discounted membership at our leisure centres
  • Career pathways
  • Ongoing training and development to help you to be the best

If you have the passion and skills for this role, then apply now.

The welfare and safety of the children in our care is of the utmost importance to us at GLL. We follow safer recruitment procedures to ensure that our staff are checked and appropriate to work with children and young people. Therefore we'll require you to complete an enhance DBS check before you will be allowed to start work.

All pay rates are subject to skills, experience, qualifications and location.
