Corporate Travel Consultant (Interim) - JCB WORLD HEADQUARTERS - Group HR - Rocester, Uttoxeter

We have a great opportunity for a Travel Consultant to join our team.

One of the top manufacturers of construction equipment, JCB operates across four continents. Despite this scale we’re determined to grow – which means plenty of challenges, both now and tomorrow.

In a global business like JCB, our managers must travel all over the world. Our operations span 150 countries – which means our travel plans can be extensive and complicated! As a Corporate Travel Consultant, you’ll be at the heart of arrangements, getting our people to their destinations.

About your role

Working alongside the Travel Manager, you’ll arrange both routine and complex travel plans. It means using the GDS airline booking system and linking up with suppliers – everyone from airlines and hotels, to car hire companies. By building relationships and negotiating contracts, you’ll make sure we get the best prices and offers. That way, you can hit budgetary targets and a range of Key Performance Indicators. To check that your efforts are having an impact, you’ll analyse and interpret our data and finances. Where possible, you’ll also suggest and bring in improvements, particularly when it comes to travel system technology.

About you

IATA-qualified and highly professional, you’re well-experienced in Corporate Business Travel, having managed net fare agreements and negotiated vendor contracts. You’ve also become highly skilled at managing teams. With this background plus your strong motivation, you’ll be the ideal person to take on the JCB challenge. Organised and calm with an eye for detail, you have no problem handling a busy workload, and when tricky issues crop up, you’ll have what it takes to find creative solutions. With knowledge of GDS & SABRE travel systems, you’ll also be interested in the use and development of travel technology.

Rewards and benefits

Our achievements – now and in the future – are down to our 15,000-strong worldwide workforce. To say thank you, we give everyone here the chance to progress and support their career development. We also pay great attention to employees’ health and welfare, with a range of initiatives designed to promote their wellbeing.
