Financial Accountant - Prezzo - Finance

After entering into a CVA with creditors Prezzo has a revised operating cost base and debt structure and is on an exciting transformation journey led by Executive Chair, Karen Jones. The transformation will include an extensive restaurant refurbishment programme, substantial menu development, significantly improved operational performance and a revised marketing & branding focus.
Prezzo is owned by TPG, a global private equity firm.

Role Description:

The Financial Accountant is a key role within the finance department reporting directly into the Financial Controller. Taking overall ownership of balance sheet reporting and a strong underlying reconciliation process to ensure a no surprises culture is developed. Additionally, the role will focus on treasury management and future cashflow forecasting to allow the business to move forward with its investment plans with confidence.

Supported by two junior members of the team the role is responsible for the transactional relationship with the bank, bank reconciliations, AR function, Fixed Asset register and cash capex reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Balance sheet control - develop a no surprises culture in the financial reporting with a detailed and timely reconciliation process and balance sheet reporting pack
• Working capital optimization – assist the execution of the current working capital plan which will deliver in excess of £6m cash benefit
• Treasury - close cash management and reporting are essential to the transformation journey at Prezzo. Accurate cashflow forecasting allows the business to confidentially invest in future growth
• Audit - ensure the smooth running of the annual audit.
• Tax - liaise with external advisors to meet all reporting deadlines and ensure that tax payments across CT, VAT, PAYE and PSA are optimised.
• Bank – owner of the relationship with Barclays the role will ensure smooth running of the banking platform and bank reconciliation process
• Fixed Assets – Ensure the fixed asset register is maintained and an accurate understanding of the assets held at each restaurant is in place to allow good quality investment decisions. Own the cash capex reporting for the business.
• AR – ensure that all partnership and retro invoices are correctly calculated and invoice to contract and payment is received properly. The owner of trade debtors.

Profile:

• ACA qualified with at least 1 year PQE
• Excellent planning & organisational skills and able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
• Keen eye for detail
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including those outside of finance, and the ability to present to senior individuals
