Can you deliver a warm, attentive, professional service to our hotel guests? Are you able to handle enquiries with precision as well as courtesy so that our guests receive what is agreed?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Receptionist to join our busy Front of House team, where you will greet and check in/out guests, deal with day to day and telephone enquiries in a professional manner, whilst maximizing all revenue opportunities, and ensuring that guests receive the highest standards at all time.

The Oxfordshire Golf Hotel and Spa is situated in the heart of the Chilterns, and comprises a 50 bedroom 4 Star Hotel, with Heath club and Spa treatment rooms, as well as a championship Golf Course of outstanding quality.

We are looking to recruit for full time and casual hours contract. The full time contract will be 5 days per week worked on a rota basis and the casual contract will be working as and when required during busy times and to cover absences.

Receptionist Key Accountabilities:

  • Handle promptly and courteously all guest comments, questions, complaints, requests and inquiries, taking the necessary action and ensuring thorough follow through.
  • Be fully conversant with and able to sell and promote all services and facilities available to guests using the hotel.
  • Be fully conversant with current and future availability at any given time.
  • Be fully conversant with hotel standards of operation and department procedures.
  • Be fully conversant with handling of reservations enquiries.
  • To be familiar with switchboard duties. Be fully aware of the various methods of payment accepted by the company and ensure accuracy of guest bills.
  • Familiarise yourself with the guests needs and requirements in order to ensure guest satisfaction and efficient and friendly service.
  • Ensure that the reception desk is manned at all times during your shift.
  • Maintain a professional image on duty, including a polite and courteous manner, cheerful disposition and punctuality.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous reception and associated computer systems experience, such as Opera, would be desirable.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work within a customer facing team are essential.

Shift times will be 7.30am to 3.30pm or 2.00pm to 10.30pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am to 4.30pm Saturday and Sunday, worked on a rota basis, 5 in 7 for the full time positions and as and when require for the casual contract. You will be reporting to the Front of House Manager.
