Activities Manager - Tattershall Lakes, Lincolnshire

What we need in a nutshell

We’re known for the high quality of our holiday entertainment and activities and we’re looking for the right person to join our team as Assistant Activities Manager. You will help lead the team that puts on the finest activity offering that keep our guests coming back for more.

Some of the background

We’re not your average holiday company. Our guests come to our UK resorts to experience a world away from their day-to-day. When they are with us, they play crazy games, enjoy show-stopping entertainment and live in the moment. Our job is to surprise and delight them at every turn.

As Assistant Activities Manager you will be on the front line of delivering delight to our guests by making sure our PLAY arts & crafts, My Active, Ranger and Family Together activities are properly manged, organised and loved.

What you’ll be doing

Working as part of our slightly bonkers team of holiday heroes, you will bring your sparkling personality and boundless enthusiasm to assisting the Entertainment & Activities Manager in the running of our entertainments program, including:

  • Maintaining equipment, including correct charging, cleaning and storage, along with the comprehensive activity maintenance log each week
  • Be the ‘High Ropes’ course champion, ensuring all necessary checks and paperwork complete, course maintenance or repairs booked in and reported correctly, and overall necessary care and attention given.

  • To upload and manage the online booking system for activities, keeping on top of session capacity and availability to be able to upload overflow sessions well in advance.
  • To take ownership of the activity budgeted income, and ensure we are maximising revenue whilst keeping guest experience at the forefront of delivery.
  • Standing in for the Entertainments Manager when required - overseeing the entertainment and activities department, looking after visiting acts and attending management meetings at certain times of the year.

And who knows what else you may find yourself doing. As long as you’re happy to help even when it’s ‘not your job,’ you’re our sort of person.

One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times, so you will need to work your magic on bank holidays, weekdays and weekends, throughout the summer season.

Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need

We’ll provide training, but you must:

  • Have some management or team-leading experience
  • Have great communication skills
  • Have experience of working with families and people of all ages
  • Have the confidence and personality to host a wide range of activities
  • Have a head for numbers and logistics
  • Be engaging, happy and enthusiastic - able to make every guest feel special

It’s about your values too. We have a can-do, fun loving, people-centred ethos here at Away Resorts, which is captured by our holiday heroes’ mantra of Attentive Amazing Lovers – if that’s fired up your curiosity, have a read about it here and decide if it describes you.

Nice to have but not essential

It would be great if you tick some of these boxes too (but we won’t hold it against you if you don’t).

  • Experience of managing or team-leading an activity programme
  • Experience in managing a budget, with an understanding of cost of sales
  • Experience in cash handling, online booking systems.
  • Experience in the hospitality sector
  • Experience of working in a holiday park
