Central Reservations Manager - Aim of the Role

To be responsible for reservations training and development, maximisation of revenue, communication between hotels and on property teams and system progression and installation. This role will be based at Chewton Glen in Hampshire. 

Central Reservations Manager - Responsibilites 

    • To be totally responsible for the day to day management of the team including training, development, HR procedures, recruitment, rotas, holidays and performance
    • To be overall responsible for room, restaurant, spa and cookery school reservations
    • To liaise with the General Managers on property to enhance communication and the best service for all of our guests
    • To be responsible for the management and communication for the onsite Reservations team members such as Guest relations etc
    • To work closely with the Revenue Director to implement and execute the Revenue and Rate strategy
    • To carry out weekly forecast reports and attend the forecast meeting
    • To liaise with the Duty Managers to enhance the guest experience as required
    • Work closely with the VIP Loyalty Manager to ensure that the VIP checks are completed and ensure the allocation of rooms are correct for each property and that all VIP guests are well looked after.
    • To work closely with the VIP Loyalty Manager to reward loyalty and grow revenue
    • To ensure that all large social events such as Race Week, Summer Holidays, Christmas and New Year bookings for all properties are correctly sold and allocated and the payment procedure is followed by assisting the Assistant Reservations Manager
    • To ensure that Opera is up to date with the rate strategy and the team understand the importance of selling through the Rate Query key
    • To ensure all correspondence is correct on Opera
    • Work with the Director of Revenue to maximise revenue across all departments and work towards implementing Restaurant and Spa forecasts
    • Work with key Heads of Departments such as Spa Managers, Restaurants Managers to ensure effective communication and that revenue is maximised and guest satisfaction is achieved
    • Ensure the team understand the budgets for all hotels in order to meet targets and ensure these are communicated daily
    • Look at ways to enhance the guest experience, become more efficient and run the department more effectively
    • Look at and suggest ways to improve the performance of the department
    • Implement and monitor mystery shop calls and utilise results for training and development
    • Manage Hotelfone and suggest ways to improve this system
    • To work with the Revenue Director to ensure all rates, close-out dates and hotel related information is correct on GDS, Relais & Chateaux systems, computer systems, on-line booking system and website
