BUSINESS ASSISTANT

Needed for a hospitality Company in Guernsey in the Channel Islands.

The company operates two successful restaurants in St Peter Port. (Octopus & Le Petit Bistro)

We are looking for someone to support the daily running of the business. This is a very varied role this is far from a standard office job.  The ideal person most have a lot of self-motivation and able to deal with a wide range of tasks and situations. As this position is within the hospitality sector it would be desirable to have previous experience within the industry allowing you to have a greater insight into how we operate.

Here is a snap shot of duties and responsibilities but not limited to.

Administrative part:

  • Ordering office supplies
  • Liaise with suppliers
  • Sending emails
  • Organising and preparing reports
  • Inputting customs declarations
  • Assisting with General HR functions
  • Ad hock project work for the owners

Organisation part:

  • Monitor and distribute uniforms
  • Create inventories of stock
  • Create and update maintenance tasks
  • Coordinating deliveries between restaurants and staff houses
  • Help with the general filing

Operational tasks:

  • Perform weekly checks of the staff accommodation
  • Insure where possible visit both restaurants in person on a regular basis to speak with the Owners and senior management
  • Wiliness to drive the company van to transport stock, as well as go to local suppliers
  • Catalogue and sell no longer needed Kitchen equipment
