GLL is looking for a part time Admin Assistant (20 hours per week) based at The Sands Centre Events in Carlisle, Cumbria. This role will provide administrative and financial support to the Arts and Events department to deliver the events programme to a high standards expected from promoters/producers, the client and the local community. The Sands Centre Arts and Events department caters to over 750,000 patrons a year with a wide variety of events and shows, from comedians to West End Productions, comedy to classical. With over 200 events a year this a busy and exciting department to work for, working alongside some of the biggest names in arts and entertainment. 

Working in a busy theatre office, you'll undertake general administration tasks as well as maintaining the department's purchase and sales ledger and compiling statements of accounts for internal and external stakeholders. You'll effectively reconcile and troubleshoot all the department accounts which includes completing the year end reconciliation, petty cash reconciliations and claim submissions, Box Office income reconciliation. 

With have an interest in the arts you'll have experience in general administration, accounting, budgets, cash handling and book-keeping of multiple accounts. You'll have excellent written and numerical skills plus experience in a similar role (preferred). You'll have a strong understanding and experience of IT packages/software such as Microsoft Office plus computer-based accounting systems. Time management will be important, as will working well under pressure, whilst still maintaining accuracy in all that you do.
